The barb insert connection fits inside the layflat or oval hose and requires clamping to secure in place. The spigot end is the equivalent of a male PVC connection, meaning the outside diameter of the spigot end is the same size as the outside diameter of the PVC pipe of the same nominal size, thus requiring a slip (socket) PVC fitting to connect the
