It is going to be a great wine when it is released in maybe 10 years time

Finely drawn nose of fresh plums

I very much like this understated effort as it is an exercise in harmony and refinement and while there is the usual taut muscularity of a classic Corton-Charlemagne

cocoa and dark flowers are impressively concentrated

and I’m probably underrating this beauty by a point

Palate: Blackberry, currant, and plum flavors unfold with layers of mocha, anise, and dark cherry, supported by chalky tannins and firm mountain acidity. Finish: The finish is long and resonant, with lingering chocolate covered dark cherry tones. Enjoyable now, yet structured to age gracefully for 20 years or more.
